Great interview responses -
Interviewer:
I'm sure you get many offers to remix different projects. What is your >
method for picking the ones your most interested in doing?
DJ: At this point, I'll take whatever
I can get.
Interviewer: What is your inspiration
for each of the different remixes you do?
DJ: Inspiration? Shit, I just do the
same thing every time and blow through the mix as quickly as possible. It's
all whacked, so I don't really give a shit about inspiration.
Interviewer:
Do you ever get to work with the artists on a one on one basis?
DJ: Fuck no! Why would I wanna work
with the artist one on one? Shit, more 'n half of 'em can't even sing---I
don't need that kind of aggravation!
Interviewer:
What is your favorite or most used software for your remixes?
DJ: Acid.
Interviewer: Do you still do live
appearances?
DJ: Yeah. I play at the local Karaoke
bar.
Interviewer: If so, do you DJ live
with Vinyl, CD's, or laptops?
DJ: 8-tracks, dood! Oh, and the occasional
78-rpm disc---they're limited edition, ya know!
Interviewer:
Do you think your musical background gives you an better understanding >
of music in the DJ World?
DJ: Well, let's see, hmmm.... most
DJs couldn't hear a note if you smacked 'em in the face with it, and I am
a musician, ergo, I actually don't have a better understanding of music in
the, er, 'DJ World', as most DJs are tone-deaf, and I just don't understand
that.
Interviewer:
Where do you see musical styles heading?
DJ: To be honest, the absurdity of
the question negates any worthwhile answer from me.
Interviewer:
Do you prefer working on your own projects or remixing for other > artists
or both?
DJ: I prefer sitting around all day,
watching Family Guy reruns. If I actually had money, I'd prefer working on
a coupla whores at the same time.
Interviewer:
What is in the future for [Insert Name]?
DJ: Bankruptcy.
